Bay Area Photographer | Chloe’s Senior & Family Portrait Session
As graduation season arrives and high school seniors prepare for an exciting new chapter, it feels like the perfect time to revisit one of my favorite sessions. Chloe graduated from Presentation High School, and although this session is a throwback, it was simply too beautiful not to share. As a Bay Area photographer, I have the privilege of meeting incredible young people every year, and Chloe was someone who seemed to know just about everyone I had photographed over the years!
From the moment we started her senior session, Chloe’s confidence and genuine personality made every portrait feel effortless. She has an incredible sense of style and a natural ease in front of the camera that allows her personality to shine. One of my favorite things about photographing high school seniors is capturing who they are in this unique season of life, and Chloe embraced every moment with confidence, grace, and humility. I can’t wait to see where life continues to take her.
In addition to her senior portraits, I also had the opportunity to photograph Chloe’s family. Sessions like these are especially meaningful because they capture an entire family during a season that often passes by much too quickly. Her family selected a beautiful, coordinated color palette that worked perfectly together without looking overly matched. Thoughtful wardrobe choices can make a tremendous difference in the final gallery, creating a timeless look that allows the focus to remain on the people rather than the clothing.
One of the questions I receive most often as a Bay Area photographer is what everyone should wear for a family session. The good news is that you don’t need the trendiest outfits to create beautiful portraits. Choosing well-fitting clothing in colors that complement your skin tones and coordinate naturally with one another will always produce classic images you’ll love for years to come. Feeling comfortable and confident in what you’re wearing is far more important than following the latest fashion trends.
I especially love photographing families with teenagers. Many families make professional portraits a priority when their children are young, but once busy schedules, sports, and activities take over, family sessions often become less frequent. Those teenage years, however, are just as important to preserve. They represent the final chapter before your children begin building lives of their own, and they deserve to be remembered just as much as those early childhood milestones.
Whether you’re celebrating a graduating senior, updating your family portraits, or simply wanting to freeze this season of life, investing in professional photography creates memories that become more valuable with every passing year. As a Bay Area photographer, my goal is to create timeless, authentic images that you’ll treasure long after the moment has passed.
If you’ve been thinking about updating your senior or family portraits, I’d love to help you create photographs that celebrate your family’s story. Contact me today to begin planning your next session.
