I was so excited to be Alaina’s Saratoga senior photographer and help capture such an exciting milestone in her life. From the moment we met, her positive attitude and infectious smile made the entire session feel effortless. She has one of those personalities that immediately puts everyone around her at ease, and that kind of energy always makes for an incredible photography experience.
One of my favorite things about working with high school seniors is photographing students who are willing to trust the creative process. Alaina embraced every idea with enthusiasm, allowing us to experiment with different poses, lighting, and locations throughout the session. When a senior is relaxed and willing to simply enjoy the experience, it creates portraits that feel genuine and full of life.
Alaina also has an incredible sense of personal style. Rather than following every trend, she has developed a look that feels completely authentic to who she is. For Alaina’s session, we were fortunate to have absolutely beautiful conditions. It had recently rained, leaving the landscape vibrant with lush shades of green. As the clouds slowly parted, soft sunlight filtered through the trees, creating some of the most gorgeous natural light imaginable. Those are the moments photographers dream about. The combination of fresh greenery, glowing light, and Alaina’s natural confidence made every location feel magical.
While beautiful light certainly enhances a session, it’s always the person in front of the camera who brings the photographs to life. Alaina’s relaxed personality and genuine smile made every portrait feel effortless. Whether she was laughing naturally or simply enjoying a quiet moment, every image reflected her confidence and authenticity.
As a Saratoga senior photographer, my goal is to create portraits that are both timeless and personal. Since these portraits were taken, Alaina has gone on to study at UCLA while continuing to pursue tennis as a nationally ranked athlete. Watching my seniors go on to accomplish incredible things is one of the most rewarding parts of this job, and I couldn’t be more excited to see what the future holds for her.
